Climate Change Economic Analysis Forum's role in the national climate change process

The Climate Change Economic Analysis Forum (CCEAF) is a joint venture between the Conference Board of Canada and the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI). It was designed to improve the understanding of the impacts of climate change options. The CCEAF convenes forums with analysts, modelers, and policy advisors to improve the understanding of the climate change process and to make recommendations on assumptions and methodologies. Their mode of action is to prepare briefings on the economic costs and benefits of different emission trading scenarios and to suggest how to estimate the penetration and impact of technology innovation. The issue of principal concern to the CCEAF is the potential cost of greenhouse gas emission reduction measures, and the improvement of the consistency and transparency of economic models currently used to analyze the impact of targets outlined in the Kyoto Protocol
