Decontamination of radioactive source storage room in Uruguay
Description
An extensive surface contamination was produced in a radioactive source storage room during handling of unused radium sources. Working tools and materials were also contaminated. The storage room is located in the Centro de Investigaciones Nucleares and all operations related with management and storage of radioactive wastes produced in Uruguay are done there. This work describes the actions that were taken to determine the contaminated area, the tests to determine the procedures to follow and their application
