Description

Lead-argon films of different composition are prepared. The superconductivity is quenched at an argon concentration of 18.5 at%. A linear dependence of the superconducting transition temperature T/sub c/ on the reciprocal of the logarithm of the sample thickness is observed. The reduction in T/sub c/ is explained as a result of changes in the electronic band structure. (author)
