PWR fuel-rod absolute-pressure measurements in a thermal-transient environment

Description

Eddy-current-type absolute-pressure transducers have been developed for use within pressurized-water-reactor fuel rods. Such an application of the transducers required development of a real-time correction technique to reduce temperature transient effects on the devices, as well as a method to minimize crosstalk between two or more transducers. This paper presents a description of the measurement system and its application, followed by a discussion of the correction techniques
