Description
A polar representation for the Yang-Mills vector potential is written which is preserved by gauge transformations. This enables one to separate out explicity gauge degrees of freedom in the Hamiltonian formalism. The resulting Hamiltonian contains all instantaneous interaction between color charges and admits in addition to usual perturbation expansion in powers of g also an expansion in powers of 1/g. In the first term of that expansion space derivatives are absent, hence, propagation is not possible
