Reduction of CO2 emission of cogeneration plants in Romania. Joint Implementation in practice

Description
The Dutch government has several agreements with Eastern European countries to reduce the emission of CO2. The Dutch association for electric power generating companies (Sep) and KEMA (Dutch research institute for the electric power industry) carry out several projects at combined heat and power production plants in Eastern Europe. An example is the assessment of twelve cogeneration plants in Romania. The first results at three of the plants show 2-5% reduction of the fuel consumption, based on cheap measures. For more expensive options the savings can be 5-8%
