Description
Proton Linac Development Division at RRCAT, Indore has developed a cold cathode Arc discharge filament based H- ion source, which generates peak H- ion beam current of 12 mA at 50 keV beam energy, using 3-electrode extraction geometry made up of different metals. High radiation field has been observed during trial operation of the facility. In order to characterize the radiation source, X-ray measurement was performed for H- ions beam extraction and some stray electron extraction with extracted beam current is made to fall on target plates for beam characterization. This article presents the results and discussions of X-ray spectra measurements at different beam energy. (author)
