Automatic spectrometric complex for measuring radiation characteristics of cosmic rays on the PROGNOZ-9 space station

Description

The SOSNA spectrometric complex designed for the study of solar proton event and hard X radiation in experiments at the PROGNOZ satellite is described. The complex ensures the measurement of spectral characteristics of cosmic protons with the energies from units to tens MeV/nucleon, dynamic characteristics of hard X radiation bursts in the energy range of 10-200 keV, proton angular distributions in the range of 10-150 MeV and charge spectra of particles with z = 1-26. The SOSNA complex was started at the PROGNOZ satellite on July 1, 1983 and operated for 7 months. Using the complex about 400 solar X-ray bursts were detected
