Application of statistical estimate methods in analysis of leachability of vitrified radioactive wastes

  • 1. Vysoka Skola Chemicko-Technologicka, Prague (Czechoslovakia). Katedra Technologie Jadernych Paliv a Radiochemie

Description

The processing of extensive experimental material using the methods of mathematical statistics has allowed to arrive at conclusions relating to the leachability of vitrified radioactive wastes. Interesting for practical purposes is the finding that the ratio of Na and K concentrations in the leachates is time independent. The effects were studied of the properties of leached glass on the size of this ratio. The hypothesis is made supported by experimental material that the conclusions may be generalized for the ratio of Na and 137Cs concentrations. (author) 6 figs., 3 tabs., 6 refs
