Description

Prussian blue(PB) can enhance elimination of 134Cs in rat and 137Cs in human subjects, not only in early period but also in late period. When each rat was given orally 50 mg/kg of PB, the total elimination rate of 134Cs in 72 hours was 53.9%. When the rat received orally 500 mg/kg of PB each day which lasted for 6 days, the total elimination rate of 134Cs in 7 days was 94.3%. The toxicity of PB was quite low. The doses as high as 40-800 times of 50 mg/kg PB did not cause any acute and early toxic effects on mice, rats and dogs
