p+p → γ+j+X process and the possibility of measurement of the gluon distribution function for a proton

Description

It is suggested to fit the data on correlation between a ''direct'' γ quantum and a hadron jet j by use of the method based on a ''naive'' parton model and allowing to calculate the distribution of gluons inside a proton for any model of the hard subprocess. The intrinsic transverse motion of partons and emission of soft gluons in QCD are shown to be inessential if the events of the reaction p+p→γ+j+X are selected from the kinematical range (Psub(perpendicular γ)+Psub(perpendicular j))sup(2) << Psub(perpendicular γsup(2))
