Dynamic mechanical properties of AISI 304l irradiated to 2.2 dpa
Creators

Description
Effects of strain rate 10-2 to 102/s and temperature (20, 400, 550 degree C) on the mechanical properties of the austenitic stainless steel AISI 304L irradiated to a dose of 2.2 displacements per atom are reported. The Superposition of the effects of strain rate, irradiation, and high temperature causes reduction of flow stress and ductiltiy. Further similar tests on irradiated materials previously submitted to creep and low-cycle fatigue damage are therefore necessary to calculate the behavior of reactor structures under dynamic loads generated by explosive accidents or impact of missiles or both
