Description
Recent data on nucleon structure functions from neutrino-induced deep inelastic scattering are used to compute moments. A QCD analysis of the non-singlet moments, including O(αsub(s)) corrections, indicates Λ sub(anti Manti S) approx. equal to 0.4-0.5 GeV. A small, higher twist contribution cannot be excluded but such a term would probably increase, rather than decrease, Λ. A novel procedure of analyzing the singlet moments demonstrates consistency of theory with data. Moments of a gluon distribution are then extracted which show a clear Q2 evolution over the range 5-90 GeV2. Comparisons with gluon distributions from psi, Y production (via the fusion model) are made. (orig.)
