Composition of the cosmic ray iron group in the galaxy at different energy intervals

  • 1. Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain)

Description

The energy spectrum of the VH cosmic ray group (20<Z<28) registered in Lexan solid state track detectors is studied for a total number of 675 ion tracks. The intensities have been extrapolated to the detector's upper surface and to the top of the atmosphere in the frame of the regular model with energy loss. The fragmentation cross sections have been calculated through the semiempirical relationship of Silberberg and Tsao. Both the homogeneous and diffusion models, including solar modulation, are applied to the treatment of the iron group propagation in interstellar space
