High Tc superconducting Y-Ba-Cu-O thin films with texture and epitaxial features

  • 1. Dept. of Physics, Peking Univ., Beijing (China)

Description

Y-Ba-Cu-O superconducting thin films have been prepared by multilayer deposition techniques on different kinds of substrates. Zero resistance was achieved at temperatures 84.5 K, 75 K, and 60 K for polycrystalline ZrO2, MgO and sapphire substrates, respectively. The influence of the films seems to come mainly from mutual diffusion between the film and the substrate. A strong texture with c-axis perpendicular to the film plane on the above substrates and an epitaxial growth with a-axis perpendicular the film plane on a (100) SrTiO3 substrate were observed. The conditions and the reasons for forming the texture and the epitaxial growth are discussed in detail
