Accelerated ageing test of cable materials used in nuclear power plants for the evaluation of lifetime
Description
The report describes the experiment of relationship between ageing and lifetime by the using of thermal and irradiative accelerated ageing test of cable materials and measuring the property change caused by aging. The deterioration evaluation background and regulation : The accelerated ageing testing method is studied by standard testing methods of nuclear power plant cable materials, and related regulations which are carried out now. The artificial accelerated ageing of the cable : The deterioration of the cable generated for a long period are studied by property change of imitated experiment in a short period. The heat and radiation are expected of critical deteriorative factors, and estimate the activation energy of thermal degradation to carry out thermal accelerated ageing and irradiated accelerated ageing by accumulative radiation. The property evaluation and lifetime estimation by accelerated ageing: The deteriorated material property are measured by various test and analytical method like AC breakdown strength, insulation resistance, dielectric permittivity and dissipation factor, elongation at break and tensile strength, weight loss temperature, FT-IR spectroscopy, etc. The test results are compared with standard mechanical characteristics in use to establish a guiding principle of the lifetime evaluation
