Studies on pyrometer measurements for fast and inhomogeneous laser heating

Description

The modelling of laser heating by ns laser pulses in combination with on-line pyrometer measurements of the surface temperature is considered. Certain pyrometer parameters (microsecond response time and limited temperature range) are under special consideration. Inhomogeneous laser heating induced by a tightly-focused Gaussian laser beam is discussed. Inhomogeneous laser heating resulting from highly absorbing centres on the surface heated much higher than the background is also considered. Theoretical data are compared with the experimental results. (author)
