Description
Full text: Generally, isotopic labelling is widely used to gain insight into transport processes in chemistry, electrochemistry, medicine, biology, etc. A novel pulsed radio frequency-glow discharge time-of-flight mass spectrometer (GD-TOFMS) has been used for isotope differentiation in anodic films on metals. A time resolved detection mode was developed to sample the afterglow regime of the pulse profile, corresponding to high signal levels of the sample species. Complementary techniques have been utilized for the characterization of these films, namely TEM and GD-OES, TOF-SIMS and RBS. (author)
