Description

After having outlined the stake related to the support to R and D in the building sector, the first part of this study defines the value chain of the building sector, discusses the role of R and D and innovation in this sector, and proposes a sectoral approach to R and D. The second part discusses the economic weight of the building sector and the associated public and private R and D effort in France and abroad. The third part proposes a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the French, European and world inventive activity and scientific production of the building sector by considering the theme of energy: study methodology and limitations, global dynamics, R and D indicators in France, analysis per French region (Ile-de-France, Rhone-Alpes, Alsace) and per themes (envelop, usages, energy automatic management, integration of renewable energies), general and thematic international comparison (USA, Japan, Germany)
