Three-colour electrophotometry of eclipsing binary system RY Gem
Creators
Description
Simultaneous photoelectrometric observations on an eclipsing binary star of RY GEM are carried out in three filters, in a photometric system, close to U, B, V. The average brightness curves permitted fo find for the first time the secondary brightness minimum with the amplitude 0sup(m)x06 in the yellow colour, which was hardly noticeable in the blue filter and completely disappearing in ultraviolet rays. The energy distribution in the continuous spectrum of RY GEM system is investigated. Photometric data are compared with spectral data at a full eclipse phase the system colours and energy distribution in the continuous spectrum turned out normal. The flare curves are calculated according to the Kopal-Piotrovskij method, as well as to the Cherepashchuk method. The Roche model plotted by us on the base of our photoelectrometric data and the mass ratio of star components 0.2 and the appropriate analysis permit to make conclusion that subgiant component fills the critical Roche surface and is a constant source of the gaseous ring observed around another component
