Effect of annealing on cathode luminescence of cubic boron nitride

Description

Using the investigations of the effects of isothermal annealing on the luminescence centers GC-1 and GC-2 of polycrystals of cubic boron nitride (BNsph), it is established that annealing in the temperature range from 600 to 1900 K does not result in the energy shift of spectral lines but changes significantly their intensity and width, being associated with the formation of stable complexes, change of elastic microstresses and the structure perfection of samples. The composition of the above mentioned defects GC-1 and GC-2 includes vacancies of nitrogen and boron, respectively. A new center GC-4 with the electron-vibrational structure and the energy of non-phonon transition 1.44 MeV interacting with local phonon 56 MeV is found
