Quantum correction to the discrete breather in capacitively-coupled intrinsic Josephson junctions

Description

Macroscopic quantum tunneling (MQT) of a discrete breather is investigated in a stack of capacitively-coupled intrinsic Josephson junctions. The quantum escape rate of a breather trapped in a false vacuum is derived within the instanton approximation. We predict the escape rate is enhanced by the capacitive coupling between junctions
