Description
The combustion synthesis of Eu3+ doped Li6Re(BO3)3 (Re = Y,Gd) compounds in the ternary system Li2O-Gd2O3-B2O3 is described. The synthesis is based on the exothermic reaction between the Fuel (urea) and oxidizer (ammonium nitrate). The luminescence properties of Eu3+ ion in the matrices Li6Y(BO3)3 and Li6Gd(BO3)3 have been investigated. (author)
