Influence of cysteamine on plasmatic amylase and S.G.O.T. activities in irradiated rats

Description
Alterations in plasmatic amylase and SGOT (Serum Glutamic Oxalacetic Transaminase) activities were determined in rats after exposure to gamma radiation at two doses: 900 R (LD50/30) and 1200 R (LF100/30). These determinations were carried out 6 and 24 hours after irradiation. The rats were given intraperitoneal injection of cysteamine (100 mg/kg) 15 minutes before irradiation. A comparative study with non protected rats was performed. It was observed that plasmatic amylase activity was not affected either by irradiation or by cysteamine. Lethal or semi-lethal irradiation increased plasmatic SGOT activity. But no correlation was established between this increase and rat survival time
Abstract (French)
On a determine les alterations des activites de l'amylase et de la SGOT plasmatiques chez des rats exposes au rayonnement gamma a deux doses: 900 R (LD 50/30) et 1200 R (LD 100/30). Ces determinatons ont ete effectuees 6 h et 14 h apres l'irradiation. Les rats ont recu, 15 minutes avant l'irradiation, une injection de cysteamine par voie intraperitoneale, a la dose de 100 mg/kg. On a realise une etude comparative avec des rats non proteges. On a constate que l'activite de l'amylase plasmatique n'a ete influencee ni par l'irradiation, ni par la cysteamine. L'activite de la SGOT plasmatique a ete augmentee par l'irradiation delivree a dose letale ou semi-letale, mais cette augmentation n'a pas pu etre reliee au taux de survieAdditional details
