Simultaneous presence of unindexed lines with contrast of different sign in Kikuchi patterns

The Kikuchi patterns of silicon containing simultaneously bright and dark unindexed lines are obtained. The formation and contrast of these lines are explained on the basis of Kikuchi-electron double diffraction. It is concluded that the contrast of unindexed lines does not depend on the sample thickness
