Liquid metal cooled pool type fast breeder reactor
Description
Liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor of the pool type, of which the primary vessel includes an annular cap made of curvilinear segments. The cap is suspended from the roof of the pit by an initial annular set of tie rods located outside the primary vessel, whilst a platform, on which the fuel assembly rests inside the primary vessel, is supported from the cap by a second set of tie rods. Should a crack develop in a weld, the damage is restricted to one tie rod. The tie rods can be kept under constant surveillance

Reacteur rapide surregenerateur du type piscine, refroidi par un metal liquide dont l'enceinte primaire comporte une chape annulaire constituee de segments curvilignes. La chape est suspendue a la voute de la fosse par une premiere serie annulaire de tirants disposes en dehors de l'enceinte primaire, tandis qu'une plate-forme, sur laquelle repose l'assemblage combustible a l'interieur de l'enceinte primaire, est supportee a partir de la chape par une seconde serie de tirants.
