Dosimetric fluorescent element
Description
A carbon rod or metal pipe suitable for r-f heating and powders or fine crystalline grains of a thermofluorescent material are solidified with a resin such as a fluorine or silicon resin to form a fluorescent element. When this element is heated by an r-f source, the carbon or metal section is first heated with said heat then transmitted to the thermofluorescent material of the element which radiates fluorescent light in conformance with the radioaction dose from a radiation source. The element is characterized by the fact that it is not in direct contact with a heater to thus assure good reproducibility of measurement and by the fact that the heating time is short to thus improve sensitivity.
