On the hydrogen detonation in a metal containment for NPPs

  • 1. ENEA, Rome (Italy)

Description

In this paper the possibility that large metal containments can face hydrogen explosion loads is explored. A discussion is conducted about the present state of the art in this field and ENEA-DISP investigations are illustrated. The computer code DETO, realized at the Technology division of ENEA-DISP in order to manage explosion gasdynamics and now under qualification, is described as well as a number of results concerning central and eccentric explosions in large containments.
