Description
After having noticed that the energy sector is very much interested in the development of the drone sector which appears to be promising for the surveillance of infrastructures, the author discusses the situation of the drone sector production as a response to an actual need, and as an innovating industrial market. She evokes some examples (companies, applications in the energy sector for maintenance and surveillance). She addresses the specific case of energy infrastructures in sea and maritime environments where aerial and submarine drones can be used for the protection of offshore platforms, as communication relay, or to exploit the development of robotics. She also discusses the implications of the development of information technology in the energy sector
