Particle physics and cosmology: The inner space/outer space connection

Advances made in elementary particle physics in recent years are helping cosmologists to understand the very early history of the Universe (t<<1012 sec). At the same time particle physicists now routinely use the early Universe and various contemporary astrophysical environments (red giants, neutron stars, etc.) as nontraditional HEP laboratories in which physics at very high energies (>>103 GeV) can be probed. In this talk I will review both of these aspects of the 'Inner Space/Outer Space Connection.'
