Ultraperipheral Collisions at RHIC and the LHC

Description
The current status of ultraperipheral measurements in heavy ion collisions is discussed, with an emphasis on what is learned from one photon (photonuclear) and two photon () processes. The interpretation of recent data on "nonUPC" events, in which electromagnetic processes occur simultaneously with hadronic ones, is also discussed. Results from the LHC (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, and LHCb) and the STAR experiment at RHIC are discussed.
