Thermal expansion coefficient of alkali metals

  • 1. Akita Univ. (Japan). Coll. of Mining

Description

The thermal expansion of alkali metals is investigated using a local Heine-Abarenkov model potential in the perturbational method. The mode Grueneisen parameters and the temperature dependence of both the mean Grueneisen constant and the thermal expansion coefficient are calculated, and the obtained results are quantitatively in good agreement with the experimental data.
