Energy policy after Chernobyl

The paper concerns the energy policies of governments of the developed world, after the Chernobyl nuclear accident. The development of nuclear energy supplies, including the present position and future plans, are outlined. The implications of the Chernobyl accident on nuclear power programmes is briefly discussed with respect to public opinion, alternative energy supplies and the cost involved. (UK)
