Revamping of the RA-0 reactor instrumentation

Full text: The instrumentation of the RA-0 reactor was conceived at the time of its construction, and with some improvements introduced when it was moved to Cordoba province, is the one at present used for supervision and control. This instrumentation is already obsolete in its conception as well as in its implementation, presenting among others, real problems of reposition of spare parts with the corresponding lack of availability, so that it must be renewed. As this instrumentation has to be replaced, a system based on digital techniques is proposed which, allowing the incorporation of new modules and transmission concepts, and information presentation, will be the basis of a more ambitious instrumentation updating plan in other reactors of National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA). The objective of this work is to describe the implementation and technologies required in order to update this instrumentation, which will also help to improve the reactor performance by incorporating didactical interactive programs
