Luminescence properties of europium (Eu3+) in lanthanum chloro-silicate La3(SiO4)2Cl

Description
The fluorescence properties of Eu3+-activated lanthanum chloro-silicate La3(SiO4)2Cl are reported and discussed. The emission results from the activator ions lying in the two different sites of the rare earth element. Spectral distribution is determined for excitation into the Eu3+ charge-transfer band or in the 41 states. The conversion efficiency is study as a function of the activator ion concentration.
