Demonstration of the radiation protection optimization

Description

The estimate of total effective dose by summing up contributions from all relevant exposure pathways by which an individual was exposed is calculated. In this paper the various methodologies for calculating doses and dose rates based on the type of radiation sources were provided. The procedure for establishment of optimization of radiation protection uses effective doses and dose rates calculated at a certain distance from a point source, assuming both shielding and no shielding. In the calculation also the time of exposure is included. The estimated values of the effective doses to workers, students or the public did not exceeded specify dose limits. (authors)
