Evaluation of the effects of radioisotope leakage in Tsuruga Power Station of the Japan Atomic Power Co

Description

Radioactivities of 54Mn, 60Co, and 137Cs in sea water, sea soil, sea weed, and sea foods were measured by a Ge(Li) detector, one to two months after the accident of radioisotope leakage. No radioactivity due to the accident was detected in sea water and sea foods. The distribution of the radioisotopes investigated were listed in tables. Radiation dose was evaluated when contaminated sea weed or shells were uptaken continuously. The accumulated dose per year was 3 to 4 orders lower than the maximum permissible dose. (J.P.N.)
