X-ray diffraction study of Er-Cu-Al system

Description
Methods of X-ray diffraction analysis are used to plot a diagram of phase equilibria of Er-Cu-Al sytem at 600 deg C. Compounds of ∼ ErCuAl3, ∼Er2Cu3Al5 and Er5Cu6Al9 with unknown structures are first detected. The effect of thermodynamic stability of binary compounds and complications of their crystal structure on extension of solid solutions on their basis in a ternary system is considered
