Description
Today's safety concepts for nuclear power stations are based on redundant, actively operating safety equipment for overcoming defects. An increase in the standard of safety through additional increases in the level of redundancy, diversity and automation does not appear to promise success. In future reactor concepts, the overcoming of defects will be affected by the use of simpler, passively operating safety equipment and will require, only after long waiting periods, intervention by personnel. Abstract (German)
Das heutige Sicherheitskonzept der Kernkraftwerke basiert auf redundanten, aktiv wirkenden Sicherheitseinrichtungen zur Stoerfallbeherrschung. Eine Steigerung des Sicherheitsstandards durch weitere Erhoehung des Redundanz-, Diversitaets- und Automatisierungsgrades erscheint nicht erfolgversprechend. Bei zukuenftigen Reaktorkonzepten soll die Stoerfallbeherrschung durch die Nutzung einfacher, passiv wirkender Sicherheitseinrichtungen erfolgen und erst nach langen Karenzzeiten Eingriffe des Personals erfordern.
