Description

Nonlinear couplings between Beltrami fields (magnetic fields and ion flows) in a three-species plasmas are considered. By using a multi-fluid plasma model, a set of evolution equations for nonlinearly coupled magnetic fields and the ion vorticity is derived. Solutions of the coupled equations in the steady state are obtained and analyzed. Implications of the present investigation to macroscopic magnetic fields in the Earth's magnetotail/magnetosheath and in the heliosphere are discussed
