Description
We present the results of the study of quantum efficiency and gain of Visible Light Photon Counters (VLPC) at high counting rates, expected in their application as readout detectors of the scintillating fiber tracker in the Doe detector. At a projected maximum rate of 10·106 photoelectrons/sec, the VLPC quantum efficiency only decreases to 97% of its maximum value. Since other applications may involve higher counting rates, we present data up to rates of 90·106 photoelectrons/sec
