Adsorption-clathrates system for cleaning discharge gases on regeneration of spent reactor fuels
Creators
Description
Problems are considered of the gaseous discharges from the installations for nuclear fuels reprocessing cleaning from krypton 85. It has been established that the most effective sorbent for krypton and xenon, activated carbon is at the temperature of 195 K. At the last stage of the gas cleaning process it is practical to use the clathrate compounds for binding stable nuclides of xenon and krypton 85 from the concentrates produced at the preliminary stages of enrichment. It makes possible to obtain reprocessing products in the form suitable for subsequent handling. The results are stated of investigations on the adsorption-clathrates scheme of catching, separation and enrichment of noble gases. The process is going on in 3 stages. 1 stage - adsorption at 195 K; 2 stage - desorption at heating of the sorbent; 3 stage - clathrates forming. Main parameters and dependances of the process are given. (I.T.)
