Dispersion measurement of the J-PARC MR

Description

The J-PARC Main Ring (MR) has three straight sections and arcs. The dispersion function of the straight sections is designed to be zero. The dispersion of the MR had been measured with varying the RF frequency, and compared to the design value. In the MR beam commissioning of 2009 Spring, we set two operating points, one is for Fast Extraction (FX), and the other is for Slow Extraction (SX). As the operation mode, there are 3 GeV DC Mode and 30 GeV Acceleration Mode. The measured data of SX Tune with 3 GeV DC Mode, FX Tune with 3 GeV DC Mode, and FX Tune with 30 GeV Acceleration Mode are shown with the designed dispersion. (author)
