High-frequency space charge and nonlinear dynamics of the beam instability in a plasma waveguide

Description

Nonlinear instability dynamics of a high-current relativistic electron beam in a plasma waveguide in a strong longitudinal magnetic field is investigated. An expression for a special charge force of a thin beam is obtained and a substantial dependence of the magnitude of this force and instability mechanism on the beam position in the waveguide is obtained. A possibility to effectively control the electron efficiency appears here. The effect of electron beam lamination in the plasma waveguide is also studied
