Equilibrium configurations of some one-dimensional systems

Using the discriminants of the classical orthogonal polynomials, the values of the potential energies of some one-dimensional systems are calculated at equilibrium noting the fact that the equilibrium positions of these systems coincide with the zeros of the classical orthogonal polynomials.
