35Cl NQR spectra of complexes of SnCl4 with the aryl phosphorodichloridates XnC6H5-nOPOCl2

Description

By the 35Cl NQR method it was shown that in the interaction of equimolecular amounts of XnC6H5-nOPOCl2 and SnCl4 trigonal-bipyramidal complexes are formed, [X= CH3, Cl] but at a reactant ratio of 2:1 the products are octahedral complexes. In both cases the electron-donor center is the phosphoryl oxygen atom. The shift in the NQR frequency of the chlorine atom of the POCl2 group in the formation of octahedral complexes is usually somewhat greater than in the formation of trigonal-bipyramidal complexes
