Description
Acute, subacute and late radiation reactions and also complications which developed in 80 patients with lymphogranulomatosis were analysed. The patients had been exposed to multipolar irradiation on a betatron with an energy of 25 MeV in a continuously-split course. The single focal dose was 200-250 rad. The cumulative dose applied to the affected lymph nodes and the spleen reached 4000-45000 rad, to the areas of subclinical metastasization - 3000-35000 rad. It is established that the treatment is tolerated by the patients quite satisfactorily. Incidence and the extent of manifestation of radiation reactions are much less than with a continuous course of radiation therapy. Noradiation complications are practically recorded
