Measurement of the top quark mass at D0

Description

The mass of the top quark is measured using a sample of 93 lepton + 4 or more jets events collected with the D0 detector at the FNAL Tevatron collider. The authors find the top quark mass is 169 ± 8(stat.) ± 8(syst.) GeV/c2. The analysis assumes that top quarks are produced as t anti t pairs that decay to W bosons and b quarks. The final states result when one W decays to eν or μν and the other W to q anti q. More than four jets may be present because of final and initial state radiation
