  • 1. Malaysian Nuclear Agency, Bangi, Kajang, Selangor (Malaysia), Technical Support Div.

Description

ReDICS project is a development project under the 10th Malaysian Plan, which means to upgrade the PUSPATI TRIGA Reactor (RTP) control console from the analog system to a digital system. One of the projects objectives is to improve the capability and safety of the reactor's operation. The operation of the RTP complies with the safety guidelines of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Hence, in order to improve the operational safety of the reactor, ReDICS project was proposed. This paper will explain the scope of work in the ReDICS project. In addition, the design principle for the Data Acquisition and Control System (DACS), Operator Work Station (OWS), Reactor Protection System (RPS), Wide Range-Neutron Measuring System (WR-NMS), Control Rod Drive (CRD), Area Radiation Monitoring System (ARMS), Seismic Monitoring System (SMS) will be described. The design of ReDICS follows the requirements as described in N-S-R-4 in order to achieve the safety objectives such as general nuclear safety, radiation protection, and technical safety. (author)
