High field magnetism in the heavy electron systems
- 1. Osaka Univ., Toyonaka (Japan). Dept. of Physics
Description
Recent progress in high-field magnetism of heavy Fermion compounds and related materials mainly obtained in Osaka University is reviewed. Destructions of the heavy Fermion state or the band gaps under high magnetic field are shown as typical high field effects. Two discoveries, field-induced switching of the Ising axis in DyCu2 and quenching of the quadruple ordered in DyAg are shown for topics to expect new CDW under high field. Multi-step magnetization of CeP induced by the Landau level crossing is given as a first example of the Stoner-Landau problem. Other various high-field effect in highly correlated electron systems such as the incommensurate phase change in PrCo2Si2, various impurity states in SmB6 and high field profile of the oxide high-Tc superconducting materials are also shown.
